Glix Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 30 July 2026

1. About this policy

This policy explains how the Glix website at glixapp.com uses cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and session storage. It should be read together with the Glix Privacy Policy.

The Glix web application at app.glixapp.com uses strictly necessary cookies and storage to keep users signed in and keep sessions secure. Those are essential to provide the service and are covered by the Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage and session storage are similar browser technologies that store information on your device. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and UK GDPR) requires consent before non-essential cookies are placed, and we follow that rule: analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.

3. The categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to work and to honour your choices. These do not need consent and are always active.

  • glix-consent (cookie): records your cookie choices so we do not ask on every visit. Expires after 12 months, or sooner if the consent wording changes and we need to ask again. Contains your choice, its date and the wording version, no identifiers.
  • glix-announce-dismissed (session storage): remembers that you closed the announcement bar. Deleted when your browsing session ends.
  • glix-exit-session (session storage): remembers how far you have browsed this visit so we do not repeat the same on-page prompt. No identifiers. Deleted when your browsing session ends.
  • glix-exit (local storage): honours your choice when you close our “before you go” prompt, so we do not show it again for 14 days (90 days once you have been in touch or started a trial). Contains only timestamps and a content label, no identifiers.

Analytics (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where the site can improve. These cookies are set only after you choose “Accept all” or turn analytics on in the preferences panel. IP anonymisation is enabled and we do not use analytics for advertising.

  • _ga (cookie, Google): distinguishes visitors using a randomly generated identifier. Expires after up to 2 years.
  • _ga_* (cookie, Google): maintains the session state for this site's analytics property. Expires after up to 2 years.

Google's own information about these cookies is available in the Google cookie policy.

Analytics is not currently active on this site. When it is activated, the consent banner will appear and no analytics cookie will be set unless you accept.

4. Managing your choices

  • The consent banner: choose “Accept all”, “Necessary only” or manage each category individually.
  • Change your mind at any time: use the “Manage cookies” link in the footer to reopen the banner and change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawing analytics consent stops analytics and removes Google Analytics cookies from this site on a best-effort basis; you can also delete them in your browser settings.
  • Browser controls: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop parts of the site working, such as remembering your consent choice.

5. What we do not do

  • No advertising or targeting cookies.
  • No selling of personal data to data brokers.
  • No fingerprinting.
  • No analytics before you consent.
  • Fonts and assets are served from our own domain, no third-party font or CDN requests that could track you.

6. Changes to this policy

Where we add, remove or change cookies, we update this policy and the “Last Updated” date. Where a change requires fresh consent, the banner asks again.
